When my 8-year-old son George decided he wanted to sew a dress for his girlfriend for Valentine's Day, I couldn’t say no! 🥰 In this video, I guide him step by step through making the Mini Indigo dress from Tilly and the Buttons’ Mini Makes book. We cover everything from cutting fabric to sewing seams and learning key sewing terminology along the way. The fabric we used is a beautiful flamingo-print viscose, which I also sell in my shop. Even though the video is long, I wanted to keep in all the teaching moments so it can serve as a complete beginner-friendly sewing lesson for kids (or anyone new to sewing!). Sewing the Wildergown with Beautiful V&A-Inspired Fabric!

Join me as I sew the Wildergown by Friday Pattern Company using a gorgeous new fabric from the Craft Cotton Company! This viscose-cotton blend features three stunning prints from the Crafts of Tranquility collection, inspired by the V&A Museum in London. The finished dress will be on display at the CHSI trade show at the end of February, and the fabric is set for release in summer—but fabric shops can pre-order it now! In this video, I take you through the entire sewing process, from cutting out the pattern to the final stitches, sharing tips and lessons learned along the way.
